This addition project is another design / build collaboration with
Ed Nikles Custom Builder.
The work not only includes a ground floor and basement addition overlooking a small pond, but a second floor master bedroom suite and a semi-detached garage. The exterior was totally redone to provide a consistent and attractive design. This craftsman inspired design includes exposed beams in the ceilings and an exterior with rich material texture. Vertical board and batten siding is used with clapboard on a stone "base", to help break up the facades. A "jerkin head" or clipped gable roof treatment was used to control the vertically of the board and batten siding. A stone fireplace and bracketed eaves, continue the "craftsman" look and feel of this weekend home.
